The
Serene Light Community Fund was established to support all the
Non-Profit SL Projects, which are based on the needs of the
Communities. We are a Global Volunteer Network, with two
central locations- in USA and India. We work through
collaborative efforts with other Organizations formed by
people from within the local community, who are in the best
position to determine their needs.
We welcome
contributions to Serene Light Inc. which are fully tax
deductible under 501(c) 3) Non-Profit Organizations. The
Serene Light Community Fund allows visitors to our site to
contribute to the work of the Global Volunteer Network and our
Projects.The entire 100% of contributions donated to the
Community Fund directly goes to fund the Projects and related
expenses. All the Members of the Serene Light Network are
Volunteers. There are NO commissions or salaried employees,
except for the Serene Light Health Center Professional Staff
(Doctors and Nurses) who provide care at the Non-profit Clinic
at Chennai, India:

PROJECT 1: "NEW FRIENDS" - Assistance for
Immigrant Women Assisting the individuals (women who need
assistance in finding resources) such as medical, legal and
other vital services. This is especially true for immigrant
women who do not have the family support or the resources. We
help in bringing together caring individuals who can provide
"Mentorship" to those who need real and practical skills (such
as driving, language and computer skills etc).
PROJECT 2: "TAKING CARE" - Programs in
Rural Areas Organizing and conducting Professional
Seminars/Workshops in rural areas, to promote Healthy
lifestyles that include Disease Prevention, seeking Early
Medical Assistance and Regular Health Screenings.
PROJECT 3: "SPECIAL GIVERS" - Support for
Care Givers This Project is designed to 'support and
encourage' caregivers who unselfishly care for family members
who are either terminally ill or suffer from incurable
illnesses. We assist by relieving the caregivers for a few
hours and small financial contributions that can help make it
a little easier.

CENTER SERVICES Serene Light Health
Center offers Primary Health Care in a caring environment.
Medical Professionals (Physicians and Nurses) provide the
health care. Appropriate referrals will be made if any further
care is required.
Community Education Program and
Support Groups:
A Comprehensive and Interactive
community forums are held on a regular basis. Issues include
HIV/AIDS Prevention, Heart Disease, Hypertension, Diabetes,
Cancer, Asthma, Women's Health, and Mental Health Awareness.
Support and Educational Groups are offered and facilitated on
a regular basis addressing various life
issues.

Project
We believe that even
as we give a hand in nurturing the dreams of every child we
are helping in nation building. Books, the right books, can
make a difference. We will accept any donations made
specifically for this purpose. You can also make a donation in
the name of a special woman family member or friend. All cash
donations are tax-exempt in India and US. At this time- we
plan to set up- two 'Reading Rooms' in India at this time:
1.Udaipur, Rajasthan
2. Chennai, Tamilnadu
This is an on-going project and we will include more
